We saw the vet today. After a month of daily doses of Viralys lysine gel (from the pump which dispenses 1 mg a day), Myrna's temp is finally down to 101.8 from 102. 8. The high temp indicated a virus or infection. Lysine helps fight viruses. A normal temp is great news.
Not only was I giving lysine, but to cut down on spreading germs between cats, I brush her teeth first, then the others, then wash the brush in hot water with a scalding hot rinse. I hope that this cuts down on germs and is one reason Myrna's temp is normal again.
