Local Kroger Pharmacy Changes Atenolol Supplier-Pill is Much Larger Than Normal; We Switch to Target

From Facebook Nov. 17:   Photo of Myrna's atenolol: small pill on the left in the baggie is the size she received when it was produced by Teva or RE and sold at Kroger. The larger pill on the right is the new one sold at Kroger by Zydus. Kroger now only sells the Zydus. Both pills are 25 mg. I can't imagine why the pill is larger except that it is filled with more filler. Monday, I will call around to see what else I can find. I hope I have a choice but may not. (We are now getting atenolol from Target and their pills are the usual normal small size.)

  1. Krogers did this to me as well. For some reason I can not take the larger ones. They make my heart rate jump around. Which is why I take atenolol.
I made kroger order my normal 25mg atenolol from Teva. Its a struggle each month but I have no other option but to have them order the normal size Teva brand.
My doctor says it could be a filler in the pill that causes me to have issues.
